New sectors in Islamabad will be announced within a month, Mayor


Metropolitan corporation Islamabad has announced to introduce new sectors very soon to cover the losses in the Islamabad Development Authority. Chairman/ Mayor Captial Development Authority (CDA) Sh. Ansar Aziz said that keeping in view the vision of prime minister we will make Islamabad a beautiful and clean city of the country. We will remove the difference between urban and rural Islamabad.

Mayor said that to keep the city tidy and neat we will give a contract to the Waste Management Company. An Islamabad Building Authority will be formed who will observe the violation of the by-laws by the property owners. The defaulters of the CDA will be asked to clear their dues and special operation will be started for recovery.

Sh.Ansar told that when he took the charge only 25 crores were present in the account and it was difficult to pay the salaries of the staff. We have decided to take indiscrimination action against the encroachments in the city.

The infrastructure of the city has become old and will be replaced stepwise. Citizen Committees will be formed to look after the public parks and playgrounds. Margala Road expansion will be started soon and overhead bridges will be constructed to cross the roads for pedestrians.The sectors which were started in 1989 will get soon development work. The project of Islamabad Highway will not be completed in 2017 due to lack of funds.

On a question about the unification of Metropolitan Corporation and CDA Mayor said that both are different autonomous bodies working under different ministries. He announced not to take the salary as chairman CDA.He announced to upgrade the food street and no record exists in CDA about the demolished shops. The president of National Press Club Shakeel Anjum said that newly elected Mayor has come with a conviction to make the city better than before and whatever step he will take in the development of the city and for the benefit of the residents, we will support him.
